Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_INCLUDE in /home/(hidden)/public_html/index.h

Well, I got this error… ( Yes I added the hidden, no FTP hacking allowed. )

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_INCLUDE in /home/(hidden)/public_html/index.html on line 71.

I saw an error like this in another thread… and I saw that you may need my code so, here it is.

 <p>Hey guys, been a while since I've posted anything, but I'm back to the site.

For the EO junkies that look at my site, I just wanted to point you towards an awesome private server called Energizers. To connect to this private server, type energizers.no-ip.org into your setup box. Check it out some time!

I cannot find an error near line 71, are you sure you copied the right file contents?

Lines 70 and 71 read <div class=“post”></div>

This line can’t be doing much good and doesn’t need to be there. Delete this line out (It’s spread out on two lines:

<div class=“post”>
</div>

Major Edit to my Post

I have made a screenshot of your code of index.html in action on Dreamweaver. You have many </div> tags in your code that are invalid.

(http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1298/scrnp.png)

Would you mind uploading the index.html file to a site like rapidshare so I can take a proper look, and maybe send you back a fixed copy?

No need to delete it for it does absolutely nothing. Just pulls in a class. … It shouldn’t cause an error if the class exists.

(I edited my post)
Dreamweaver see’s </div> used about 5 times where it should not - it warns me and says it may produce errors.

To original thread(er) - What web software are you having this problem on? (ie wordpress, joomla, phpbb etc)

I use plain old html, and I use notepad to edit all my pages

You are sure you posted the correct file code? Something just totally seems off…

Oh I know what happened, I had it saved as .html, not .php, I was trying to run a php code! Silly me xP

…You don’t have any php script in your code

Just looked through - there is near the end - this must have been what was causing the error.

I still don’t see it! I even string searched for <?, <?php… I think what you saw is Javascript and you confused it?

It’s mostly written in html (hence the html tags), but I think there is one line that’s written/understood as php - function Gsitesearch(curobj){ curobj.q.value=“site:”+domainroot+" "+curobj.qfront.value

Don’t know much php though :S. - Looking back that looks like javascript :S

That’s Javascript lol :smiley:

Hehe. Never used javascript before! only PHP and HTML (and other, desktop languages like C#, c++ and VB)

haha it’s ok, I used to confuse c/c++, actionscript, and java all the time
