Doesn’t that say you’re connected? Is there any error meassage?

no error message nothing
connection is successfully established but nothing shows up in the remote site section

i have attached the screenshot

What is supposed to be there? Always upload into public_html folder.
(attachments aren’t working, you need to use something like imageshack.us)

EDIT: There’s nothing there because there’s nothing in public_html folder except default.php - http://tektics.co.cc/

this is the screenshot

also the kink to the screenshot…it’s not visible here http://uppix.net/9/8/0/0d87bc32c8e5d50e26527d54ea784.png
well i will consider using the site’s own file manager and remove the default.php

If you’re looking for the public_html folder, then with your ftp settings you’re already in it.

that’s the main problem… pls help…

That is the directory you are suppose to be in. That is where you will upload all your website files.

did your delete the /public_html folder. If not it should look like this

i figured it out… my web server is not letting filezilla open the directory listing…because it is protected with Cyberoam www.cyberoam.com

It’s more to do with your settings, you set filezilla so that you go directly inside public_html folder, you wrote this in your first post:

the default remote directory is set to /public_html

Which means you see the inside of the folder with nothing in it, if you don’t set this in filezilla, then you see the folders and files as in the picture by echo442

I looked at the FileZilla pic from your earlier post.
I have the same pic and get
Status: Directory listing successful
So why can’t I get on to your website? What am I missing?
My website is

Any suggestions in helping me would be great. Also if someone
doesn’t mind answering my questions, I need step-by-step
instructions as I am still a newbie at this.
Many thanks in advance.
Sincerly,
Ruzya:)

If you can connect what is it that you are unable to do?

Hi Shock
When I enter my website (ruzya.hostei.com) in the URL search window I get
http://error404.000webhost.com/?
I don’t know why?
If I understood your earlier posts, my set up looks like echo442’s. Is that not
what it’s suppose to look like?
Sincerely,
Ruzya

What have you uploaded to the public_html folder? You need atleast an index.html file (or index.php)

Hi Shock
First of all I thought that we were suppose to delete the public_html folder?
Second of all under the Remote Site: part of FileZilla I see a half of a blue and white folder where the yellow folder should be according to echos442’s page???
Thirdly I did include an index.html page.
Also, in FileZilla under Local site I have
Local site:/Users…all of my information, the files are coming from my desktop
Then under Remote site I have
Remote site:/ it is completely blank here, no text
Underneath a half blue & white folder
And underneath that the same list of files that are found on the left.
I think that I am close, but obviously not close enough.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ruzya

Do not delete the public_html folder, that is where you upload to (inside it) the index.html file needs to be inside that folder.
Best thing to do is download everything you want to save and click the Cleanup / Reload Account button in cpanel. Then upload your files to the correct place.

You’re aimimg for something like this

Hi Shock
I am going to have to delete my account and start again
because I still have a white & blue folder under the Remote site:
section after I followed your instructions using cleanup /reload account.
Also can I use FTP Fetch instead of FileZilla?
Sincerely,
Ruzya

Use any ftp client, what’s this white and blue folder? Can you make a screenshot? Clean up/reload is exactly the same as making a new account, just with the same domain name.

Hi Shock
I won’t be using Fetch as it is a File App that you have to eventually pay for,
something that I cannot afford right now.
I am using an iMac running on OS X10.6.8. I wonder if that makes a difference?
I am not sure of how to post a screen shot.
I will try dragging it to this window and hope that it works. Sincerely, Ruzya
