SMF install DB usrrname error

Hello all. My first post…
SMF Installer (code from SMF for version 2-0-14)
Database Server Settings

Filling out the form (with Username set without the host prepend text) produces:
Critical Error: Cannot connect to the database server with the supplied data.
If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.Critical Error

variation

If Username is set to hostac_username (as it should be)
produces (
Fatal error: Function name must be a string in
/home/xxxx/public_html/yyyy/forum/install.php on line 843

Has anyone come across this situation where the database password with the host accountname prefix causes this fatal error. And a fix, perhaps??

Can you provide a screenshot of your install error?

sure… if I can work out how to include an image. :slight_smile:
The screen is blank except for:
Fatal error: Function name must be a string in /home/icad9e4/public_html/board/forum/Sources/Load.php on line 142

(all on one line)

I’m sorry but the content is not relevant to my question. Line 142 in Load.php is what’s causing the error. I thought someone might know the code and be able to give me a clue as to the likely cause of the failure to DB connect on that basis.

What is your website address?

Database is having issues at the moment, so any sites using database will experience issues.
