I’ve been noticing that my site will show ERROR:524 like 10 times a day, and after few moments it will work again. But when that happens according to what is say maybe there is a problem with the host.

That timeout occurs because Wordpress can’t connect to the database. Issue occurs because your website has exceeded max_queries_per_hour DB resource. For more information please read this topic:
