freehostia.com is focused on providing paid hosting service, but tehy also have single free hosting plan, that includes 250 MB space, 5 GB bandwidth and has support for MySQL databases. However, it includes only one database and it can not exceed 10 MB in size. Well, it should be enough for hosting small website with very little content.
While registration form is fast to complete, activation email may take up to 30 minutes to arrive to inbox, so don't expect instant account activation here.
But we don't think that longer than expected activation time will move you away from this company. Their free plan is really nice, and server speed is just perfect (we had no slowdown during whole test period), all the features (like PHP, FTP, etc.) work well and no ads are placed on your pages. So if don't need lots of space for MySQL database, freehostia.com may be a wise choice.

| Site always worked very quickly too. Not many features though for a free host, but I suppose that's a trade off for having a site that always works. I never had downtime problems with them. I switched because the 10mb of mysql space is pretty bad, but I recommend them for someone running a small site. |

| Freehostia.com is not a god host now. All over the internet there are comments abouts is uselessness. The main thing was that when i uploaded my webite to it i was keeping in mind to kep the webpages small. So i added a Form to Email PHP Script. But the script was not able to send email. When i enquired about this they said that in a FREE Plan you are NOT ALLOWED! to send Emails with PHP. And the other thing is that they allow only 500Kb of maximum file size. So we cannot upload even a website background image correctly. So at last i would say that, if you want a host please choose 000webhost and not FreeHostia.com. | I have to say they did an excellent job integrating with the Joomla install. The installation was a breeze. But the problem I'm having with them is the incredibly slow web pages. I got the free hosting plan, but seriously it's crawling. Maybe it's just because it's 6am in the morning. It used to go a little faster before, but I'm quit disappointed at the moment. |

| Freehostia is an absolute disgrace, even their homepage frequently goes down. I have a paid account with them which runs at less than 97% uptime. It's now been down for over 48hrs. |

| I have been using freehostia free plan for more than 18 months now. It is excellent. The only problem that I am confronted with now is that I made an update and uploaded it on the sight. I see all the files in the file manager but when I click the link it tells me the page is not available. I want to know what I am not doing it right.
