Да, я знаю про библиотеку PHPMailer.
Но в качестве учебного примера нужно проверить работу функции mail().
Совсем недавно она работала. В других аккаунтах она тоже не работает.
Хостинг запретил ее использовать?

Try using SMTP method of the mailer? As this will allow us to hopefully have a better idea of where it goes wrong.

We’ve not banned anything, but if you don’t use SMTP then you are on a shared server with thousands of other users, if there are abusive users on it then they’ll cause that server to simply be blacklisted by all/most mail provider/networks.
