Can't view my website after uploading HTML

I’ve uploaded a very simple index.html page to test the account, but I can’t find the address that will take me to it.

I’ve tried the following addresses and both only take me back to 000webhost error page:

31.170.160.100/home/a9250598/index.html
server36.000webhost.com/home/a9250598/index.html

I signed up with a domain I already owned from 1&1, and did the nameservers change which already went thru, but I can’t seem to find the actual address from 000webhost that I need to point my domain to.

Please help. Thank you!!

Your domain pedromiguez.com is using 000webhost’s DNS which correctly points to the hosting server IP 31.170.161.71

Your site is visible to me at http://pedromiguez.com/

If you can’t see it there yet, then you’re waiting for DNS propogation. This delay is quite normal.

Hello Mate,

The site you can view by going to pedromiguez.com is my Vimeo page.

I made a website and uploaded the index.html file to 000webhost. I wanted to be able to see this index file (and see if it’s working), before pointing my domain to 31.170.161.71.

The DNS servers are already changed at 1&1 and so is the A-Record IP to 31.170.161.71. But I still haven’t change the Domain forwarding because I wanted to test the website directly thru 000webhost first.

What am I missing here? What’s the address to view my index.html file?

I’m seeing a site on a 000webhost server - http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/9044/pedroe.png

ShocK, that’s my old vimeo page. But I wanted to see the index.html I just uploaded to 000webhost. Don’t understand why I can’t see it.

The page I see has anayltics code used by 000webhost when I view the source.

<!-- Hosting24 Analytics Code -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://stats.hosting24.com/count.php"></script>
<!-- End Of Analytics Code -->

Isn’t there an internal address I can access the index file I uploaded to 000 ???

Shouldn’t I be able to see this by typing the ip address 31.170.161.71.

All I get is an error page and I’ve no idea where to go from here.

You are on a shared server, you have not got a dedicated IP.

I see, but then how do I view my index.html file internally without going through pedromiguez.com ???

There must be a way to do this…

What exactly do I need to put in here then?

Perhaps the following thread that appears in the FAQ of this forum can help.

How to view your site before DNS update/propagates?

To use a “forward destination” you must use the subdomain you created with your website in 000webhost. If instead you used your own domain, you must use the instructions given in the link above.
