HTTP Error 403 Forbidden

Good evening,

Well… xP Google didn’t help me this time.

Today I tried to chmod one of my hosted files by FTP client (Filezilla).

However, I ended up chmod-ing the whole “public_html” file my mistake (ahah). Starting from here, everyone who tried to access my domain got the page “HTTP Error 403 Forbidden” (of course).

So, I tried to set it back to the 777 numeric number. I worked fine… or it should. Everyone can actually access all files nested to the public_html file (mydomain/index.html,
mydomain/contactus.htm,
mydomain/affiliation.htm
…and so on. All of my pages work fine, including index.html).

However, anyone who tries the main address without “www” (http.//mydomain.netii.net/) automatically gets redirected to the page: http://error.000webhost.com/forbidden.html

I’m still a newbie, so this is really confusing me… what must I do so that everyone can see the content of index.html on the main page, without having to write the “index.html” or “www” piece of text?

I’ve even deleted the default.php file which appeared automatically after I 1st chmod the “public_html” file.

I only use html pages. Pretty basic stuff. :confused:

I’m sorry for registering only to ask for help… it isn’t sth I do very often. ^^;

did you try running the Fix ownership and permission tools from within the cPanel?

That was fast. lol! Thank you.

I did as you say about 20 minutes ago. The problem’s still there though.
It only works if I add “www”. It’s better than nothing… I don’t want to complain too much. It was my fault after all.

lol! It actually worked. I think it needed more time to take effect. //sillygirlhere

/hug/ thank you so much!
