Also, consider purchasing a copy of HTML, XHTML and CSS for Dummies. I learned almost everything I know with that book. There really isn’t much to making nice-looking static webpages, all it takes is a little trial-and-error, with some imagination thrown in. 
There’s many ways to learn HTML.
As others has said, viewing tutorials is a good way to start learning.
Also, as another said, purchasing a book to help you understand would help.
You can also do what I had done, which is view the coding of how some web templates were made, such as the ones on createblog.com, which ALSO has MANY tutorials. Many of the templates people make there are allowed to be edited. Grab one of the codes, and study it, you can see the names of certain modules of the site, such as the header, content, sidebar, etc., once you figure out how to start editing codes, you learn by nature how to write them yourself from scratch.

A good web design text editor program to start with is Aptana Studio. I use it and love it.
Also play around with a free script source to get html down and also https://www.bitdegree.org/learn/learn-php is the best site to learn from also!
if you want a quick solution you could use a html generator like wysiwygwebbuilder you could then look at the code & play about with it? see how it works??
a good website to use is http://www.online-html-editor.org/ i have used this. just make it look how you want, click the save button. and your done.
i didnt want to open a new topic, since im brand new. i do know about websites and uploading them…but here is my situation. i did registered the webhost with u guys. i did upload the website completly. when i tried to open it said to me that i need to delete the default php file and folder. i did deleted it and now all it says is forbidden. i still have my website uploaded, but i have no clue how to open it. any help ?
