Alias in gmail keeps being rejected

I seem to have the same problem that this user

I’ve followed his process but still not getting the authentication to pass

(even though 2-steps verification is done and the password for the app as well) I’ve tried the traditional gmail password and also the provided specific app password.

Any idea what else could be failing?

As much as I know, SMTP is not supported anymore in the new panel, you have to upgrade to a paid plan to unlock this feature

Thanks CKhawand, I’m not using SMTP, I’m using the forwarder and the alias option in gmail, shouldnt that be possible?

I think that’s possible.

@javimartin780 It’s should work, but make sure you have 2 step verification enabled in your gmail account.
and then generate app password from here,
https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords

Thanks akhilkumar332 I’ve done that, and generated the password, I’ve used that password and still get the credentials authentication failure.

"Authentication failed. Please check your username/password and Less Secure Apps access for weconsutling.contacto@gmail.com.
Server returned error: "535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at 535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials z190sm3667974wmz.31 - gsmtp code(535) "

Also tried the less secure apps thing with no luck. :sweat:

Am I doomed?

Sorry I have to split them because I’m a newbie here,
you can see that 2steps is on and that the app pass has been created

I’m doing this on firefox… should I try chrome?
