FTP Service Down

FTP service has been down for both of my sites all day. Looks like they’ve been renamed to “dead baby” or “dead meat” or other similar things off & on.

Am I the only one experiencing this ? Is there a fix in the works ?

Can anyone see this ?

Testing . . . Testing . . . Is this thing on ?

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here but this forum seems dead . . . Is there anybody out there . . . ?

Good day!

What is your website address?

http://AlphaIntrusion.000WebHostApp.com
http://LameCentral.000WebHostApp.com

FTP was working again this morning but not this afternoon.

FTP servers still down as midnight approaches and another day is gone . . .

Still working fine here, provide some screenshots or error logs, have you tried alternative connection or DNS

Well the saga continues . . .

Not sure what you want Infinity. FTP doesn’t connect. A Filezilla screenshot won’t do much for ya.

Alternative DNS ? We’re only given one set of settings to use. If there are others someone should post them.

The alternative ones I’m using now is with another hosting provider as I’m having to run my site there until 000WebHost gets things together.

My sites have ran smoothly for almost a year since this happened last time. But this happens once to a few times a year & it takes a week or two to get it lined out.

I’ve had this other hosting provider for awhile & am leaning on just moving to them. Their FTP is a tad slower but it works well & their user panel is pretty slick compared to 000WebHost. But I really like 000WebHost as I’ve been here a few years but if I can’t FTP it’s of no use.

Time to jump ship ?

Could be I guess.
The FTP error logs would be nice though.
Alternative DNS there are a few in tutorial section.
Google DNS
CloudFlare DNS etc

I’ll get ya some screenshots. But what’s this with googling “CloudFlare” ? Are they another provider ? 000WebHost should provide the settings for their servers.

And when 000WebHost changes their FTP server settings shouldn’t they let us know ?

Here ya go . . .

Can you try using 145.14.144.74
Instead of files 000webhost

File Manager

You’ll need to head to General Settings and choose a new FTP/website password now to continue using FileZilla/FTP clients.

Google DNS

Replicate for IPV6 Properties as well

The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:

  • 8.8.8.8
  • 8.8.4.4

The Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses are as follows:

  • 2001:4860:4860::8888
  • 2001:4860:4860::8844

Same method as above but different servers

1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

Or OpenDNS

  • 208.67.222.222
  • 208.67.220.220

“145.14.144.74” works for the first site although I get a message about the certificate being unknown now.

“145.14.144.74” does not work for the 2nd site.

I would say if the direct IP works then for some reason your local ISP has either blocked 000webhost files.000webhost.com or their DNS has outdated entries currently?
Hopefully can be resolved by using alternative DNS, CloudFlare/Google/OpenDNS/ anything but your local ISP for a few days

I’m not sure what all the images are for that you posted. Does anyone know what 000WebHost has changed ?

Nothing afaik, DNS issues crop up from time to time.

When you visit Google.com > your computer goes to DNS servers to find the IP to lookup.
The same when you visit files.000webhost.com or attempt to load FTP for it, it goes into the DNS directory basically and finds the IP to lookup, for some reason your DNS is returning a bad entry and FileZilla doesn’t connect.

If my ISP (Comcast) blocked 000WebHost I wouldn’t be able to access the site I’d think. I don’t think that’s the case.
